SydStrong is blessed to bring smiles to young adults with leukemia. Here are some that have shining SydSmiles thanks to our donors and partners.

EMILY

Emily is a 24 year old young mother.  She found out she had leukemia 3 months before her baby’s delivery and delivered a healthy preemie in between chemo rounds!

Emily’s words: “This isn’t what I expected at all for motherhood and trying to raise a family. I was in the “this can’t happen to me” category before I learned about leukemia and how it can affect anyone of any age at any stage of their life.”

While we are encouraging Emily to take a trip with her husband and young son, she really just wants assistance getting her nonprofit off of the ground. She wants to send care envelopes filled with tea, activity pages, and stickers each month to a group of AYA’s (Adolescent Young Adult) and run a support group on Instagram for the tea club (called Cute and Acute).

Emily is receiving legal and tax assistance from our partner in IL, where she lives, to get her nonprofit up and running.
